Minutes of the last meeting were approved and signed.
Matters arising from the last minutes.
War Memorial - work will recommence shortly.
Correspondence.
Letter from resident raising concerns re school traffic am and pm.
Points of concern.
- Traffic reversing into driveways whilst children are walking along the pavement.
- Traffic turning around in the road instead of the war memorial.
- Parents opening car doors on the roadside to let children out rather than using the pavement side whilst cars speed past to overtake a line of parked cars.
- Cars parked along the road close to the junction of Church Lane is a hazard as traffic is unable to flow clearly in both directions (although they do still try to pass in both directions).
- School traffic continues to park on double yellow lines at the bottom of Church Lane on both sides of the junctions of Newtown Lane and Southtown Lane.
It was also noted parents have a School parking Code of Conduct requesting them not to park on double yellow lines and park instead in the village hall car park. This is not happening. They park early to get a place in Church Lane or Newtown Lane closer to the school.
At present at school taking/collection times there is traffic congestion, visibility issues and and over all safety issues. Residents also have difficulty exiting/accessing their own properties.
Suggestions/solutions were discussed - shuttle bus at a point where children not covered by the current school bus from Pilton could be bussed in, Traffic Enforcement Officers to book those parking on double yellow lines/ traffic cones.
School Representative advised the complainant write to the school with supporting evidence for the attention of the Head so this can be included in the School Governors meeting on September 23rd.
Matter to be reported to the authorities and further discussed.
Enhanced Highway Maintenance (EHM) and Volunteer Training Launch - Documents circulated for further discussion at next meeting.
Somerset Association of Local Councils monthly bulletin circulated.
Finance.
Bank Statement current balance - £4,455.10.

Bradley Way and Long Drove road surfaces have been repaired.
There being no further business the meeting was closed.
