Minutes of the last meeting were approved and signed.

D. Creed and A. Creed declared interests re planning and did not partake in discussion or voting re same.

Public Speaking-time.

L. Wright explained matters raised re planning.

1.  App for Outline planning for erection of a dwelling with agricultural tie as per last minutes plus

2.  Erection of a steel-framed barn and associated Hardstanding (Calving Unit)/Land adjacent to Southtown lane.

P. Gurl left the room at 20.11 hrs and returned at 20.13 hrs. with a digital caliper.

It was proposed, seconded and passed recommend Approval for both with the following provisios -

1.  Adequate drainage for run-off water/slurry in place beforehand.

2.  Barn to be constructed before the house.

3.  Smaller house suggested.

L. Wright left the meeting.

J. Greenhalgh gave monthly MDC Report.

There has been a slight overspend this year but no cuts in jobs or services.

2 more enforcement officers have been appointed. 

There will be a small council tax increase.

The Parish Council raised concerns re suspected works being carried out at The Old Cider House, Newtown lane as per previous minutes:  Clerk to inform MDC Enforcement Officer.

Matters arising:

Damaged footpath behind school - M. Colman will photograph and liase with school.

Damaged wooden post, War Memorial - P. Gurl suggested fitting a galvanised sleeve then a new removeable Oak Post.

Highways matters to be reported -

West Pennard sign in Breach lane requires straightening-up.

It was reported the 'dip' on the A361 at Laverley has been fixed.

Other business:

Councillors will be responsible for collecting their own Election Papers from Mendip District Council Offices March 19th 2019 for Elections on May 2nd.

They will also be responsible for returning them by the deadline 4pm on Wednesday 3rd April.

Glastonbury Festival 2019:

Phil Appleton to be invited to the next meeting.
