Correspondence circulated:-

Training sessions for clerks and parish councillors for Jan - March 2018 will be booked accordingly.

Termination of the current Speed Indicator Device in March 2018 to be further discussed at the next meeting.

District Councillor's Report:

MDC is working with local taxi drivers to raise awareness of Child Sexual Exploitation and will be issuing leaflets and promotional material to drivers.

To celebrate The Queen and Prince Philip's Platinum Wedding Anniversary:  Local couples celebrating theirs this year were presented with Gifts.

The new standardised 5 councils HR (Human Resources)  system has been implemented in Mendip by Capita.

The Rural Services Network has published the RSN Economic Profile for Mendip which has collated the information to put in word Mendip area's economic situation based on working age population and public/private sector employment,  with 5 others.

Councillor N. Hewett-Cooper further added MDC has acquired a warehouse to rent out  in Chepstow to create new revenue.

Councillor H.Cooper also reported SCC expects results of the Ofsted Report for Childrens Services to be issued in Jan 2018.

There is an ongoing Consultation on Library Services.

The Waste Contract ends in March 2020.

 

The new contract will bring  increased recycling, three-weekly collection for other waste and replacement of the waggons.

 

Finance:

Receipt, Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, £25.00 drawn 15.11.17, Poppy Wreath - with thanks to Cllr. P. Gurl for laying the Parish Wreath.

N.B.  Precept 2018-19 to be discussed at January 2018 meeting.

Planning:

Planning decision, MDC:-

Conversion of dutch barn to 2 dwellings/dutch barn adjacent to Coopers Cottage/Laverley - Approved with conditions.

Planning to go before the planning Board 20.12.17:-

The Cyder Barn and Land at Manor Farm/Piltown as previous Minutes.

Planning:

Proposed Works to TPO trees/West Pennard House:-

Proposed, seconded and passed Recommend Approval.

Highways Matters to be reported:

Very bad state of Newtown lane and Scottles lane and broken/missing handrail at foot of footpath in Newtown lane.
