Minutes of the last meeting were approved and signed.

Correspondence:  Mendip Local Plan Part II:  Sites and Policies.

Proposed Housing Allocation:  Land to the side and rear of 'Avalon', A361.

Concerns regarding access onto the A361.

Also noted West Pennard Primary School is not 'over capacity'.

Full Parish Council to reconvene to discuss at February 1st Meeting.

Letter of complaint re Dog fouling in Laurel lane and request for Dog waste bin and bags be sited.

Quotes to be obtained for weatherproof signage to be placed around the village and for the situation to be reviewed.

Councillors thought the complainant's suggestion to place an  article in the Parish News by a local vet an excellent idea and maybe one from herself.

Finance:  Precept 2018/19.

Accounts presented for inspection:

It was proposed, seconded and passed the Parish Council precept for £4,600.

Planning:

Planning Decisions by Mendip District Council:

1.  Proposed works to Trees/West Pennard House/Church lane:  Approved.

2.  Erection of roofing over farmyard/Higher Sticklynch Farm:  Approved.

D.Cllr J. Greenhalgh reported :-

3.  Proposed siting of 3 caravans for staff/The Cyder Barn has been passed and

4.  Proposed single storey dwelling and D. Garage to rear of Manor Farm has been refused.

Highways Matters to be reported:

1.  Blocked drain outside Southtown Cottage/Southtown lane.

2.  Request for Change of Priority where Windmill lane meets Down lane as visibility is very poor and deemed dangerous.

D.Cllr J. Greenhalgh reported a Principal Planning Officer and temporary Senior Planner have been appointed.

As per last Minutes the District Council have invested in commercial property for revenue and have retained in-house Licensing.

The Recycling contract has been brought forward to 2020 which will result in 3-weekly green bin collection and weekly collections for plastics etc.
